Contest Tip: Hovering 2

Contesting tip! Nail the hovering maneuvers to get your flight off to a great start. What makes great hovering maneuvers? I think pace is a great indicator of solid hovering skills for scoring opportunity. What is pace? Pace is consistency in the speed from one point to another on all legs of moving/traveling from one spot to another. Think of your speed from the pad to your first hovering point. That should be the same speed as you move to the next point. All traveling speeds to the next point should be the same speed. In addition, pace is the consistency of hovering over the points for the same amount of time (think mentally, “one thousand one, one thousand two” and move on). Consistent two seconds hovering over a point will help your score. Same with landing descent speed, don’t drop down at a much slower speed, and then slam the helicopter in the ground as you think “whew, finished with that one!” That bounce on landing will get you a downgrade! Pace is important, so try to incorporate that into your practice. Comments and discussion welcome!
